Andrew Tingey – Portfolio Licensing Manager
Andrew completed a PhD in Biochemistry at Leicester University in 1996, which involved industry-sponsored work on DNA topoisomerases (a class of enzymes that are important targets for both anti-cancer and antibiotic drugs). Andrew then moved to Reading University and completed a post-doctoral research position. He also holds an MBA from the Open University.
After leaving academia Andrew spent several years in industry, mainly working brining new DNA-based technologies to the marketplace.
Andrew has spent several years working on commercialisation of University IP, having led the University of York’s technology transfer operations in life sciences, and joined Fusion IP at the beginning of 2007. Andrew is responsible for out-licensing of the IP listed on this site and has considerable experience in the sucessful negotiation and conclusion of licensing deals in an increasingly diverse set of technologies and industry sectors.
